After playing many shows with both Rick Bishop (Sun City Girls) and drummer Chris Corsano separately over the years, Ben hatched a plan to join all three as one. On Sept 11th, 2009 the first rehearsal took place in the building that housed the Sun City Girls for years in Seattle. The next day they played their 1st show at the Sunset Tavern. The following week they hit the studio with engineer Scott Colburn. The resulting record, False Flag, was released by Drag City in 2010.
Since then they’ve toured high and low and tightened up their game a bit; though they can still take it out on the dixie if need be.
In February of 2012 they entered Black Dirt Studios in upstate New York and recorded their second LP, Formerly Extinct. For one stretch of recording they didn’t go outside for 4 days, becoming near mole-like in ocularity and disposition.
In 2013 Rangda released a split LP on Badabing Records with Dead C. The Rangda songs were recorded at Russian Recording in Bloomington and engineered by Mike Bridavsky (proud companion of Lil Bub).
